Tazreen Fashions fire: Arrest warrant issued against 6 people

The Dhaka Times Desk The court has ordered the arrest of 6 absconding accused including owner Delwar Hossain in the case filed in Tazreen Fashions fire incident.

Court Tajnin Managing Director Delwar Hossain, Chairman Mahmuda Akhtar, Engineer M. Arrest warrant has been issued against Mahbubul Morshed, Factory Manager Abdur Razzak, Quality Manager Shahiduzzaman, Production Manager Mobarak Hossain Manju. On Tuesday, the court issued the arrest warrant against the absconding accused in the case. All the accused in this case have been charged with culpable homicide (Section 304 Penal Code) and negligent cause of death (Section 304A Penal Code).

The other 12 accused in the charge sheet are - Delwar Hossain's wife Chairman Mahmuda Akhtar, Engineer M Mahbubul Morshed, Factory Manager Abdur Razzak, Production Manager Mubarak Hossain Manju, Quality Manager Shahiduzzaman Dulal, Administrative Officer Dulal, Store Incharge Hamidul Islam Lovelu, Security Supervisor Al Amin, Incharge Anisur Rahman, Security Guard Rana alias Anarul, Loader Shamim Mia and Store Incharge Al Amin.

Delwar Hossain, his wife Mahmuda Akhtar, engineer M Mahbubul Morshed, factory manager Abdur Razzak, quality manager Shahiduzzaman Dulal, production manager Mobarak Hossain Manju are absconding among the accused. Of the rest, 6 are on bail and security in-charge Anisur Rahman is in jail.

It is to be noted that on the evening of November 24, 2012, 111 people were killed and more than 100 people were injured in a terrible fire at Tazreen Fashions in Ashulia's Nishchintpur. On December 22 this year, the CID police charged 13 people including the managing director of the company, Delwar Hossain and his wife, in connection with the fire incident.
