Due to the conflict of the chairmen. Kabika 112 tons of rice finally returned!

Tarail (Kishorganj) Representative Under the rural infrastructure reform agenda of Kishoreganj's Tarail upazila, the allocation of 112 tonnes of rice for the Kabikha project for the fiscal year 2011-12 has been returned due to the conflict between the chairmen.

Due to the conflict between Tarail Upazila Parishad Chairman Israt Uddin Ahmad Babul and seven UP Chairman, the project was not approved and implemented on time. As a result, the people of this upazila were deprived of these development activities of Kabikha.

It is revealed that at the end of February, under the rural infrastructure reform program, the government allocated 112 tons of rice in the second phase of Kabikha in the name of Tarail Upazila Parishad. Against this allocation, the seven UP chairmen of the upazila submitted 16 projects to the office of the upazila project implementation officer. Later, the projects were presented to the Chairman of Tarail Upazila Parishad by the President of Kabikha Committee. But the upazila chairman kept wasting time without approving the projects. In the upazila council meeting on April 3, the upazila chairman Md. Israt Uddin Ahmad Babul and seven UP chairmen were involved in a dispute over the non-approval of Kabikha projects. UP chairmen boycotted the meeting.

It is known that since then the upazila and UP chairmen have been involved in conflict by accusing each other of violating the policy in finalizing the projects of Kabikha. When the upazila chairman expressed his reluctance to approve these projects as the projects were not implemented according to the rules, the UP chairman started a movement. Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md Sakhawat Hossain said that these projects should be completed by June 30 as per the rules. But due to conflict between upazila and UP chairmen, 112 tons of kabikha rice allocated in the name of upazila parishad was returned due to non-approval and implementation of kabikha projects on time.

Tarail Upazila Parishad Chairman Israt Uddin Ahmed Babul was contacted in this regard and he said that it was not possible to approve the projects as the UP Chairman did not present them according to the rules. He said that it was not possible to implement these projects as the deadline for approval of these projects had passed after they were presented through a compromise.
