The Dhaka Times Desk The Bengali nation of the mentality of 'living for the father's name' sometimes fulfills 100% of human qualities. One such incident happened in Bangladesh Railway. A train driver risked his life to save the lives of about 1500 passengers.
According to a delayed news, the Silk City Express train left Dhaka Kamalapur station for Rajshahi after 3 o'clock last Wednesday. When the train reached Jamoil station in Sirajganj, someone threw a petrol bomb at the engine of the train. Mahbubur Rahman Bulbul, the assistant driver on duty at that time, understood the matter and threw the bomb out before it detonated. Some fire also broke out in the engine room at this time. Bulbul was also able to put out the fire. However, his hand and the lower part of his elbow were burnt by the fire.
Later Bulbul was admitted to Rajshahi Railway Hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment there. The hospital authorities said that it will take a few more days to recover. Due to Bulbul's bravery, at least 1500 Rajshahi-bound passengers survived that day.
Such news is unprecedented in our society. If all of us could be dedicated to the country, to the people of the country like Bulbul, then this country would have been established in the court of the world as a happy country without violence and hatred.
