Dhaka Times Desk This year's HSC exam results have been published. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid officially handed over the results to the Prime Minister on 18th morning.
78.67 percent students have passed this year's higher secondary and equivalent exams. 61 thousand 162 people got GPA-5.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid presented the overall picture of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban. The chairmen of ten education boards handed over copies of their respective board results to the Prime Minister.
Last year, 75.08 percent students passed the HSC and equivalent exams. 39 thousand 759 people got GPA 5. As such, the number of students who obtained full GPA has increased by 3.95 percent. And the pass rate increased by 3.59 percentage points.
It is known that this time the pass rate is highest in Sylhet board, 85.37 percent. Besides, 81.89 percent of students passed in Dhaka Board, 72.29 percent in Chittagong, 66.98 percent in Barisal, 74.56 percent in Comilla, 67.87 percent in Jessore, 75.41 percent in Dinajpur and 78.44 percent in Rajshahi. On the other hand, the pass rate in Madrasa Board is 91.77 percent this time. And 84.32 percent students have passed the technical board.
This year 9 lakh 26 thousand 814 students participated in HSC and equivalent exams from April 1 to June 6 across the country. Among them 7 lakh 21 thousand 979 passed. Among them, the pass rate of female students is 89.19 percent, and 78.23 percent for male students. All have passed in 1 thousand 36 institutes this year. No candidate could pass in 24 institutes.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced the results of Rajshahi College and Rajshahi Mahila College through internet from Ganobhaban after learning the results from the education minister and board chairmen. He also spoke to the students and teachers of the two institutions through video conference.
The education minister will present the detailed results this time in a press conference at the ministry at 1 pm.

Rajuk Uttara Model College

Out of 624 students of Bengali medium (Morning and Day) science department of the college, 613 got GPA-5, 336 got GPA-5 out of 350 in business education department and 86 out of 90 got in humanities department. 81 out of 82 students in English medium science department got it and 30 out of 30 in business education department got it. The percentage of getting GPA-5 of this college is 94.05 and pass rate is 100 percent. Earlier, Rajuk Uttara Model College topped the country in Junior School Certificate (JSC) examination 2011, SSC 2010, 2011 and 2012 for 3 consecutive years and HSC examination 2011.
Abdul Qadir Mollah City College of Narsingdi is second in Dhaka Board
Narsingdi's Abdul Qadir Mollah City College has created a surprise for the third time in the whole country. In the 2012 HSC examination, this college has secured the second position among the top twenty in the merit list of the Dhaka Board. Earlier, no college of Narsingdi could make this record in the merit list of Dhaka Board. This is the third successful result of Abdul Qadir Mollah City College after securing 5th position in HSC in 2009 and 6th position in all boards combined, 27th position in Dhaka board merit list in 2011 and 4th position in 100% pass. Earlier, this prestigious college achieved the honor of 100% pass in 2010 HSC exam and 99% pass in 2008. The principal of the college. Moshiur Rahman Mridha and Vice-Principal Mahmudul Hasan Rumi said that a total of 334 students from City College participated in the examination this year, including 140 students in Science, 126 in Business Education and 68 in Humanities. Meanwhile, in this year's results, there is the most competition in the list of the best countries, occupying the sixth place. Because all the 4 institutions are jointly claiming the sixth place by getting 90 points. These institutions are Rajshahi Board's Joypurhat Girls Cadet College and Rajshahi Cadet College, Barisal Board's Barisal Cadet College and Dinajpur Board's Rangpur Cadet College. This year 49 students from Jaipurhat Girls Cadet College participated in the examination and all got GPA-5. This time in the list of the best, the traditional Notre Dame College of the capital is on the seventh place. The college is ranked seventh with 89.85 points. This year 2 thousand 480 students appeared for the exam from the college. Out of which 2 thousand 468 passed. And 1 thousand 757 people got GPA-5. Residential Model College of Dhaka Board occupied the eighth place by getting 89.73 points in the points list. This year 720 students from the college participated in the examination and all passed. Out of whom 505 got GPA-5. Feni Girls Cadet College of Comilla Board is in ninth place in the list of best with 89.38 points. This year 48 students from the institution participated in the examination and all passed. And 47 people got GPA-5. Meanwhile, Jhenaidah Cadet College of Jessore Board occupied the last place in the list of the best. This institution is in tenth place with 89.35 decimal points. This year 47 candidates from the institute participated and all passed successfully. And among them 46 students got GPA-5.
None of the 24 educational institutions passed
Like last year, no student of 24 educational institutions passed the HSC examination. On the other hand, the number of educational institutions with 100% passing percentage is 1 thousand 36. Last year the number of educational institutions with 100% pass was 892. The previous year this number was 714. This time the number of educational institutes with 100% passing percentage has increased. According to the Ministry of Education, the MPO of the educational institutions from which no student could pass will be suspended. At the same time, necessary measures will be taken subject to investigation to find out the cause of the flooding. Among the educational institutions that failed 100%, Dhaka Board 6, Rajshahi Board 4, Jessore Board 1, Barisal Board 3 and Dinajpur Board 5. Besides, there are 2 madrasas and 3 technical institutes. However, there is no such institution in Comilla, Chittagong and Sylhet boards. Last year there were 24 institutions with 100% failure rate. In 2010, the number of institutions with 100 percent failure was 25. In 2009, the number of educational institutions with 100 percent failure rate was 41. Although earlier this number was decreasing year by year. In 2003, 100% of students failed in the maximum 300 educational institutions. In 2004 that number dropped to 268. In 2005 this number further decreased to 131. In 2006, this number stood at only 70. In 2008, it further decreased to 60. On the other hand, there are 56 educational institutions in Dhaka Board, 12 in Rajshahi Board, 6 in Comilla Board, 4 in Jessore Board, 5 in Chittagong Board, 5 in Barisal Board, 12 in Sylhet Board, 12 in Dinajpur Board, 767 in Madrasa Board and 157 in Technical Board.
