It is known that after one month and 12 days of using the internet in Bangladesh in an alternative system, the line of the isolated submarine cable in Singapore was fixed on July 18. And so yesterday (July 18) for the re-configuration work of the landing station in Cox's Bazar, the internet connection was disconnected for about 6 hours from 1 am. A news has said that the internet can be used at the previous speed from July 19 today.

It should be noted that the Internet of the entire country was running at a crawl since June 6. On June 6, an undersea fiber optic cable network 56 km from Singapore was cut. As a result, data exchange was going on only through the European side through the cable. Initially it was said that this slowness may take three to four days to normalize. In the next announcement, the submarine cable is supposed to be fixed within a month, but for the past 12 days, Bangladesh has been using the Internet by purchasing 10 gigabytes per second (Gbps) bandwidth in an alternative system. The system was operational until the severed submarine cable connection was established. At present, the country's only means of Internet and telecommunication with the world is the submarine cable connection of the 16-nation Submarine Cable Consortium (JOT) called South Asia-Middle East-Western Europe Four (C-ME-WE-FOUR). So the entire Bangladesh is dependent on only one submarine cable for internet. India, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia have alternative systems so they don't have much of a problem. It should be noted that the length of C-ME-U four cables is about 20 thousand kilometers. Through this, Bangladesh is getting the opportunity to connect to 15 landing points of about 13 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. If there is no alternative, if the line is disconnected, the communication problem is faced. Which has been affected in the last one month. The country's net-based offices have to bear the cost.
