In the last few years, 60 percent of Meherpur's rice paddies were affected by late blight. Despite that, the farmers continue to grow betel with great difficulty. This time too he started marketing by cultivating betel. But the farmers are disappointed as the barge starts to flow before they can see the profit.
Farmers say that they have approached the agriculture department and tried many medicines, but there is no result. However, many farmers said that they did not get any remedy even after spraying pesticides such as Dythem M-45, Indofil M-45, Ridomil Gold, Chilazing, Confidor etc. in the barge to protect the betel from the cold current.
There are many farmers who have been cultivating betel for 40 years. But this year, his fortune has been ruined. They complain that the people of the agriculture department never inquire about betel cultivation. If the agriculture department had trained them in technology and supervised them in betel cultivation, the farmers might not have had to count these huge losses. He demanded the government's financial support and loans on easy terms to cover the losses of the brewers.
