The government is going to give government officials 25,000 tablet computers!

The Dhaka Times Desk The current age is digital age and government wants to infuse technology at the highest level of administration to reduce bureaucratic complexity and empower people. To bring more dynamics to the work of public administration, the government has now made a policy decision to tab the top officials of the administration!

The main objective of the present government is to establish e-governance in administration across the country. And with the aim of establishing e-governance, the government is going to digitize all levels of administration from top to bottom. Under that plan, administration officials will be given tabs in the light of the Info Government system. Earlier where officials used to get briefcases and keep all the files there, it is time to change that situation.

Government officials will now be able to speed up public services more quickly through the use of information technology. As a result, bureaucratic complexity, which is currently the main obstacle to public service in the administration, will be greatly reduced.

এদিকে এই উদ্যোগ আমলাতান্ত্রিক জটিলতা এড়ানোর পাশাপাশি কাজের দীর্ঘসূত্রিতা কমবে বলেই জানিয়েছে তথ্য ও যোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তিমন্ত্রণালয়। মূলত এসব ট্যাব প্রদানের দায়িত্ব তথ্য ও যোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তিমন্ত্রণালয় এর অধীনেই সম্পূর্ণ হচ্ছে। তথ্য ও যোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তিমন্ত্রণালয় সচিব নজরুল ইসলাম খান বলেন, ” দেশ এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে আমরা চাই সরকারের সকল পর্যায়ে প্রযুক্তির ব্যবহার হউক। সরকারি কর্মকর্তারা এখন থেকে তাবে থেকেই দূর থেকে সকল দাফতরিক কাজ করে নিতে পারবেন। দেখতে পারবেন কোন ফাইল কোথায় অবস্থান করছে একই সাথে ডিজিটাল স্বাক্ষর দিয়ে যেকোনো দাফতরিক নির্দেশ দিতে পারবেন, কাজ থেমে থাকবেনা।

The government has already signed an agreement with the Chinese smartphone maker Huawei to buy these tablets. These tabs will be handed over to officials very soon. And a special team has also been formed for the production quality and maintenance of these tabs.
