The Dhaka Times Desk My nomination was canceled arbitrarily,” alleged Krishak Sramik Janata League president Bangbir Quader Siddiqui.
He made this complaint to reporters at his home in Tangail on Wednesday afternoon when his nomination papers were canceled from the Tangail-8 (Basail-Sakhipur) by-election.
At that time, Quader Siddiqui said, Bangladesh Bank's letter number 14 clearly mentions that the rules for borrowers to fully repay their loans will not be tightened. Referring to Bangladesh Bank, Quader Siddiqui said, in schedule number 15, they have clearly stated that the schedule will be based on communication with the customer and the bank. But instead of doing that my nomination was canceled on the bank's word. It is done through arbitrariness. We will take legal action against this decision.
Kader Siddiqui mentioned the reason for participating in the election and said that although he did not participate in the 10th national election of farce, he wanted to participate in the Tangail-8 (Basail-Sakhipur) by-election as it is the by-election in the birth place of Krishak Sramik Janata League. That is why I participated in today's scrutiny by submitting nomination papers.
Quader Siddiqui also said that the gazette clearly states that cash, bank draft and treasury challan can be given as collateral in any way. The government does not want us to go to parliament. If the seat was not vacant due to the death of the former MP, I would not have gone for the election. He mentioned that we wanted to participate in this election as part of the movement. He said that the government wants to run the parliament alone. Bangbir Quader Siddiqui complained to reporters that his nomination was arbitrarily cancelled.
