Police constable killed in police firing

The Dhaka Times Desk Another police constable Anwar (24) was reported dead in police firing at Baghaichhari in Rangamati.

The police constable died while undergoing treatment at the Chittagong Combined Military Hospital at around 1 pm on Wednesday.

Earlier at 9 am there was an argument between Anwar and another constable Muktadir. At one point Muktadir became enraged and fired five rounds at Anwar from the rifle he was carrying. The bullet-ridden Anwar was immediately rescued and first brought to Dighinala Army Zone of Khagrachari for treatment. Later he was taken to Chittagong Combined Military Hospital by helicopter. He died in the afternoon while undergoing treatment there. The police arrested the murderer Muktadir.
