BREAKING: BTCL slashes internet bandwidth prices at customer level

The Dhaka Times Desk BTCL has finally reduced the internet bandwidth prices in Bangladesh based on the long-standing demands of customers. Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has reduced the price of internet bandwidth by two thousand taka per megabit.

Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has finally informed that from the beginning of April, the monthly charge per megabit of internet bandwidth has been reduced from Tk 4,800 to Tk 2,800. Apart from this, BTCL is also offering huge discounts on various high bandwidths.

Meanwhile, BTCL's Director (Public Relations & Publicity) on this matter. Mir Mohammad Morshed জানিয়েছেন, “দেশের তথ্য প্রযুক্তি খাতে উন্নয়ন এবং সকল নাগরিককে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারে আগ্রহী করে তুলতে সরকার সাশ্রয়ী রেটে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারের সুযোগ দিতেই ইন্টারনেটের ব্যান্ডউইথের মাসিক চার্জ অর্ধেক হ্রাস করেছে। গ্রাহকদের সুবিধার জন্য বিভিন্ন প্যাকেজের দাম নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে।”

Let's know what the price of any package will be at the customer level. Until now, the cost of two GB data package with 256 kbps speed for 30 days was Rs. 300. Now customers will get the opportunity to use 4 GB data with this money. On the other hand, in another package, by paying 500 taka, the customer can use 10 GB data at 512 kbps speed with a validity of 30 days. Besides, customers will get the opportunity to use 25 GB data for 30 days at 1024 kbps speed for 1000 taka.

The price of Brandband service has also been reduced, in this case the customer of Bcube Infinity package will have to pay a monthly charge of only 450 Tk for 256 Kbps speed, Tk 750 for 512 Kbps speed, and Tk 1,150 for 1024 Kbps speed. In addition, the monthly charge for the new unlimited package of 1,500 kbps internet speed is 1,600 taka. However, the charges for registration, setup, upgradation etc. will remain the same in case of Brandband connection.
