Bangladesh also celebrated the birthday of heroine Suchitra Sen

The Dhaka Times Desk Legendary Bengali film actress Suchitra Sen's 84th birthday has been celebrated in a grand manner in Bangladesh as well.

Suchitra Sen was born on April 6, 1931. He was born in Pabna district of Bangladesh in his maternal grandmother's house. He spent his childhood and adolescence in Gopalpur. There was his ancestral home.

সুচিত্রা সেনের জন্মদিন উপলক্ষে ‘সুচিত্রা সেন স্মৃতি সংরক্ষণ পরিষদ’ পাবনা টাউন গার্লস হাইস্কুলে জন্মদিন পালন অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে। সুচিত্রার প্রথম শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান মহাকালী পাঠশালা মূলত এখনকার এই স্কুল।

At the beginning, everyone observes a minute of silence to pray for Suchitra's soul to rest in peace. After that, a discussion session was held in his memory. The meeting was presided over by the district administrator and Suchitra Sen, the president of the memory preservation council M Saidul Haque Chunnu. The professor gave a speech Kamruzzaman, Dr. Ramdulal Bhowmick etc. They strongly demanded the restoration of Suchitra Sen's ancestral home in Bhakti. Finally, the birthday of the loved one is celebrated by cutting the cake.

এছাড়া শিল্পাঙ্গন আয়োজন করে ‘চিত্রে সুচিত্রা সেন’ নামে চিত্র প্রদর্শনীর। এতে অংশগ্রহণ করেন ৩০ জন নবীন ও প্রবীণ শিল্পী। শিল্পীরা তাদের অসাধারণ তুলির আঁচড়ে ফুটিয়ে তুলেছেন সুচিত্রা সেনের নানান অভয়ব। এতে স্থান পেয়েছে ৬২টি চিত্রকর্ম। অসাধারণ এই চিত্রগুলো নিয়ে আয়োজন করা প্রদর্শনীটি চলছে ধানমণ্ডির ৩০ নম্বর সড়কের ৭ নম্বর বাড়ির তৃতীয় তলায় গ্যালারি শিল্পাঙ্গনে এবং চলবে ১৯ এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত। অনুষ্ঠানটি উদ্বোধন করেন কথাশিল্পী Selina Hossain.

দেশের আনাচে-কানাচে আরো অনেক জায়গায় পালিত হয় সুচিত্রা সেনের। তিনি জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিলে এদেশের পাবনায়। তার বাবা করুনাময় দাশগুপ্ত ছিলেন পাবনা পৌরসভার স্যানিটারি ইন্সপেক্টর। নবম শ্রেণিতে পড়া’রত অবস্থায় তার পরিবার দেশ ত্যাগ করে। যদিও তিনি পশ্চিমবঙ্গের, তবু তার শেকড় এদেশে। তাইতো এদেশের মানুষ তাকে এত ভালবাসে।
