The Dhaka Times Desk Legendary Bengali film actress Suchitra Sen's 84th birthday has been celebrated in a grand manner in Bangladesh as well.
Suchitra Sen was born on April 6, 1931. He was born in Pabna district of Bangladesh in his maternal grandmother's house. He spent his childhood and adolescence in Gopalpur. There was his ancestral home.
On the occasion of Suchitra Sen's birthday, 'Suchitra Sen Smriti Sanwar Parishad' organized a birthday function at Pabna Town Girls High School. Suchitra's first educational institution Mahakali Pathshala is originally this school.
At the beginning, everyone observes a minute of silence to pray for Suchitra's soul to rest in peace. After that, a discussion session was held in his memory. The meeting was presided over by the district administrator and Suchitra Sen, the president of the memory preservation council M Saidul Haque Chunnu. The professor gave a speech Kamruzzaman, Dr. Ramdulal Bhowmick etc. They strongly demanded the restoration of Suchitra Sen's ancestral home in Bhakti. Finally, the birthday of the loved one is celebrated by cutting the cake.
Apart from this, the art gallery organized a painting exhibition called 'Chitre Suchitra Sen'. 30 young and old artists participated in it. The artists have brought out the various aspects of Suchitra Sen in their extraordinary canvases. 62 paintings have been placed in it. The exhibition organized with these extraordinary paintings is going on at the third floor of the Gallery Shilpa, House No. 7, Road No. 30, Dhanmondi and will continue till April 19. The program was inaugurated by Katha Shilpa Selina Hossain.
Suchitra Sen is celebrated in many places all over the country. He was born in Pabna of this country. His father Karunamoy Dasgupta was the Sanitary Inspector of Pabna Municipality. His family left the country when he was in ninth grade. Although he is from West Bengal, his roots are in this country. That is why the people of this country love him so much.
