From now on, if you want to go on educational trips and picnics from any educational institution, you have to go according to the new guidelines.
A group of students of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology of Dhaka went for a trip to St. Martin's Island on the first day of Baishakh. 6 students went down to bathe in the sea and were washed away. Later, it was possible to recover the bodies of 4 people, but the remaining two are still missing. This incident sparked a storm of discussion and criticism across the country.
In that context, this new instruction was given by the ministry last Thursday. According to the new guidelines, if you want to go on educational tours and picnics from any educational institution, you have to take the permission of the head of the educational institution. And must be accompanied by a responsible teacher.
Also, before going on any picnic or educational trip, all teachers and students concerned about that place should do their homework, get an idea about that place in advance. Moreover, the concerned administration of the picnic spot should be informed about going to the picnic in an institutional manner. In the case of educational tours or picnics, the local administration as well as the Ministry of Education have been asked to inform the matter.
At the end of all arrangements, a detailed review of the entire trip and rules of conduct should be laid down, apart from following all legal regulations, the new guidelines said.
