These large insects can reproduce quickly. When these insects come in contact with human skin, the skin burns and becomes red. 20.55 times a day, the college staff sweeps these insects into baskets and burns them. If you sweep once, 4-5 baskets of insects accumulate.
Eyewitnesses said that these insects are coming down from the rain tree in the college campus. They said, these insects come down from the trees in a line and go in any direction in a group. Many times they climb up quickly when they find a human body. As a result, the affected area becomes very itchy and red.
Meanwhile, experts from Mymensingh Agricultural University had already arrived to investigate the matter. They initially said that their main land is in Africa. Somehow they came to Bangladesh and are spreading rapidly. They grow faster when warm. The experts took some insect samples with them.
Besides, it is known about this insect, it is believed to have been found in the cantonment for the first time, this insect came in the baggage of soldiers returning from a peace mission from an African country. However, there is no detailed idea about how they appeared in Dhaka's home economics college. Pesticides are not effective due to the waxy substance on the body of this insect. In this, these insects should be collected and buried one and a half to two feet below the ground or burnt. Experts also said that Classic or Darsban 20 EC or Fipronil should be mixed with 5 SL per liter and sprayed.
Juvenile or juvenile insects damage mango, yam, jackfruit, coconut, papaya, banana, brinjal and leguminous plants. Recently, this insect is seen in different places of the country including Dhaka University, Eden College, Bailey Square Officers Quarter, Agricultural University.
Meanwhile, the Education Minister has visited the Home Economics College of Azimpur in the capital, he has told the college cleaning staff to ensure that these insects do not go outside the college compound and that they should be cleaned regularly. Panic has spread around the college area.
