The picture is of a tomato farmer. Farmers of our country are benefiting from summer tomato cultivation. There was a time when tomatoes were not cultivated except in winter. Now tomatoes are cultivated throughout the year. And the farmers are benefiting by cultivating this tomato.
In this season, summer tomatoes are being cultivated on 60 hectares i.e. 450 bighas of land in Jessore district. Agriculture officials of Jessore said that the farmers are benefiting by cultivating this tomato. By growing tomatoes on 1 bigha land, you can get about 2 lakhs by selling them. Production cost is around 1 lakh rupees. Excluding expenses, profit is Tk 1 lakh.
