Land eroding 'bomb machine' is being tricked with dust in the eyes of the administration.

The bomb machine is basically a powerful mechanical technique for stone extraction, which is very harmful to the environment. Stones and gravel are pulled from the bottom of the river through a pipe or cylinder to the machine with this machine. In this case, the position of the soil moved from the bottom of the river, causing various environmental disasters including river erosion, land erosion. In 2010, the environmentalist organization Bela filed a case in the High Court, following which the court banned the use of bomb machines across the country. However, despite the court's orders, the stone traders continued to extract stones with bomb machines in those areas.

For disobeying the court's order, the bomb machine was destroyed several times and the concerned company was fined. As a result, although the use of makeshift bomb machines has decreased somewhat, its application has appeared again. But this time with a new strategy!

In Sylhet, Bhairab, Kishoreganj, Etna and Netrakona, some ferry-like machines are seen floating on the river bed. If you look carefully, you can see that there are multiple bomb machines on these floating platforms! There are several workers. These machines are named 'Vasanya' which means that which floats. 'Bhasanya' floats in the river and lifts stones from one place to another.

The smugglers of stone are using 'Vasanya' just to stay away from the administration. When the administration came to the operation, the bomb machine from 'Vasanya' was thrown into the river. Apart from that, 'Bhasanya' continues far beyond the reach of the administration.

Abdullah Al Mamun, assistant director of Sylhet Divisional Office of Local Environment Department, said, "We have not received any such complaints about the use of bomb machines with 'Vasanya'. We have been conducting regular operations to destroy bomb machines. Referring to the operation of the last six months, he said that from October to March last year, 85 bomb machines were destroyed in Bholaganj and Jaflong. In October, 35 bomb machines were destroyed in Bholaganj. Most of which were running in various ways.
