There has been an outbreak of this insect in different places of Dhaka city, Home Economics, Dhaka University, Sher Bangla Agricultural University. This insect infestation has become an epidemic as it reproduces rapidly this summer.
The 'Giant Millibug' is mainly found on fruit and woody plants. This insect causes severe damage to fruits and crops. Various types of skin diseases and itching can occur in humans under the attack of this insect.
Ways to get rid of 'Giant Millibug' insect infestation:
The first duty is to observe your plants well at home and see if they are fresh and disease free.
If your plant is exposed to the 'Giant Millibug' insect or pre-preparation steps can be taken:
# hot water consumption
The easiest way to control them is to use hot boiling water. Can be used repeatedly if needed.
# Insecticidal soap
Different types of pesticides are available in the market in powder or liquid form. Once a week mixed with water (1 teaspoon mixed with 1 liter of water or as recommended on the label) can be sprayed on the plants.
# Neem leaves
Neem leaf is a very effective natural ingredient in insect repellants. Scatter a large quantity of neem leaves around your plant before insect attack. This makes the insect less likely to attack.
# homemade insecticide
Homemade pesticides are plant friendly. At home, you grind a whole small garlic, a small onion, 1 teaspoon of red pepper into a paste. Add three times the amount of water to the mixture and add 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwash to it and spray the plant after a few hours.
When the 'Giant Millibug' insect dies, collect it and burn it and dig a hole in the ground and bury the ashes. So that there is no possibility of re-infestation of the insect in that place.
