Faridpur

Sherpur

Due to the continuous rise in the old Brahmaputra river and the water from the hills, a large area of Kamar Char, Char Mucharia, Char Pakhmari, Balair Char and Betmari-Ghugharakandi union has been flooded in Sherpur district. Member of Parliament of Sherpur Sadar Constituency Atiur Rahman Atiq, Sadar Upazila Chairman Alhaj Ilyas Uddin and Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Irene Farzana visited the flood affected areas.

Melandah (Jamalpur)

The flood situation worsened in Melandhe of Jamalpur. Crop lands, fields and fields of 11 unions of the upazila have been submerged in flood water. All educational institutions of the upazila have announced closure.

Bakshiganj (Jamalpur)

Flood situation in Bakshiganj is stable. About 40 thousand people in Merurchar, Sadhurpara, Bagarchar and Nilakxia Union. A primary school building has been swept away by the river. As the water continues to rise, hundreds of villages in Qutubpur, Kamalpur, Velabari and Fulbari Unions including Chandanbaisha, Baluchar, Ghughumari, Rouhadah, Karitala have been inundated anew.
