Tornadoes raged in the central and southern states of the country on Sunday local time. Apart from this, the weather department of that country is also saying that several more tornadoes will hit this week. The two tornadoes were so powerful that thousands of houses were blown away like sand. After the incident, the locals could not recognize the ruins of their area.
At least 15 people died in tornadoes in the central part of the state on Sunday, according to the Arkansas Department of Emergency Disaster Management. On the other hand, according to the administration of Oklahoma, one more person died in the tornado. However, the authorities said that the death toll may increase with time.
Arkansas administration officials said five of the dead were in Faulkner, five in Pulaski and one in White County. The nearly half-mile-wide tornado tore down trees and power poles across the state. The central part of the state has been reduced to rubble.
A tornado hit south-central Oklahoma just two hours ago. It killed one person and injured six others in Quapaw, Oklahoma, on the border between Kansas and Missouri. TV footage showed numerous houses being twisted like rubber by the powerful tornado. Cars and everything are flying in the sky like light straws.
