The Dhaka Times Desk Drones were primarily used for operations without troops. But now its use has spread in various directions. Apart from military use, it is also used in various commercial applications. Now drones are also being used for advertising purposes.
Advertising agency Dronecast is using drones for advertising campaigns for various organizations. They hang a banner with advertising slogans along with it. Then it flies around busy areas and roads. Usually the banner is 6 feet tall and the drone with the banner is 25 feet above the ground. It can be called drone advertising rather than advertising.
Dronecast currently has 5 clients in Philadelphia. Dronecast earns $100 a day from each client using four of their $4,000 worth of drones for advertising.
It is not yet clear whether Dronecast's advertising campaign is illegal. However, the FAA is trying to ensure the commercial use of drones. The agency last November announced the use of drones by farmers to guard their crops.
In addition to DroneCast, another Philadelphia-based company, Manayank Cleaners, is using drones to deliver clothes. A San Francisco real estate agent uses drones to demonstrate its models for selling homes. Even Domino's in the US is using drones for pizza delivery.
