The Dhaka Times Desk A launch has sunk in Patuakhali with more than half a hundred passengers under the influence of the storm. Details are not known yet in the news just received.
It is known that the launch named MV Shathil-1 sank due to storm at Kalagachiya of Galachipa upazila of Patuakhali. The launch had more than half a hundred passengers. No one can say what happened to the passengers.
The incident of sinking of the launch took place 1 km south of the Kalagachia launch ghat of the upazila around 2:30 pm today. Local people have started rescue operations with trawlers and boats after the launch sank. No one has been rescued till the writing of this report. More than half a hundred passengers are believed to be missing.
