After 21 years….

The Dhaka Times Desk Phulbanu, which disappeared in 1991, has returned after 21 years. In 1991, Phulbanu was swept away by a cyclone and tidal wave from Kalirdail in Hatia upazila. A lot of excitement has been created in the area due to its return after a long time. It was reported that people of the area were flocking to her house to see the woman.

It is known that in the cyclone of 1991, Nashir Uddin, the husband of the same family, Phulbanu Begum (60), an old woman with two children, were lost. As many people died in the cyclone, they are also believed to have been buried in Salil. In the meantime, the other children of the old woman moved away from Kalirdail and started living in Jorkhali village.

Meanwhile, on the afternoon of September 31, old Phulbanu went to her previous home, Kalirdei, to inquire about her children. No one could recognize him because of his changed appearance. Later her husband's sister (Nand) who is old age comes and identifies her. In the meantime, the other children of the old woman came and took her to her present home, Jorkhali. On hearing the news, besides the old lady's relatives, many people from different parts of Hatia are flocking to her house every day.

Where was it, how did it come, how did it get lost, who brought it, the old woman's sons are now very excited to answer these questions. Old lady Phulbanu could not answer any question correctly but got emotional after meeting her children. The relatives of the old lady said that Phulbanu was alive by eating vine leaves in an island in the Bay of Bengal. Once the fishermen saw him and brought him to Nizhumdwip and put him on the shore. He came home after searching for a long time from there.

And this is how a family reunited with their relatives.
