The Dhaka Times Desk Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party Chairman Imran Khan has said that India has made Nawaz Sharif a 'school boy'. Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif recently attended the swearing-in ceremony of India's new Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
India's NDTV, quoting Pakistan-based newspaper 'The Dawn', reported that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party Chairman Imran Khan said that Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was made a 'schoolboy' by India while attending Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony.
The paper also quoted Imran Khan as saying, 'He did not even meet the representatives of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference (an alliance of various social, political and religious organizations in Kashmir) during his visit to New Delhi. He thinks that Nawaz Sharif has created a new debate on Kashmir.
Tehreek-e-Insaf Party Chairman Imran Khan questioned why he did not meet the representatives of the Hurriyat Conference even though he was able to meet with the Indian leaders in Delhi.
The Kashmir issue was not of much importance in the discussion between the two leaders. Prime Minister's Adviser Sartaj Aziz commented that Nawaz Sharif did not meet the Hurriyat leaders of Kashmir as it was a courtesy visit of the Pakistani Prime Minister to India.
It should be noted that the new Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan during the swearing-in ceremony. In the meeting, the two leaders discussed various issues including border terrorism and agreed that both sides should be careful about terrorism. The two leaders also agreed to avoid border clashes to remove mistrust between the two countries.
