The district administration ordered to take down all foreign flags within 24 hours and said that all foreign flags in the city should be taken down within 24 hours. On the occasion of World Cup football 2014, the flags of these different countries have been hung. On Monday evening, the information department's vehicle was miked all over Jessore city with the order to lower the flag.

When asked about this, Jessore's Deputy Negarat Collector (NDC) Nazmul Alam told the media, 'We have been asked to lower the foreign flag out of patriotism. This order has been issued in accordance with the National Flag Regulations Act.

A press release has been sent to the local media in this regard. According to the notification, Bangladesh Flag Rules 1972, Rule 9(4) states that no foreign flag can be hoisted on any building or vehicle inside the country.
