Narayanganj Seven Murder: Shahidul Islam demanded the arrest of Shamim Osman

The Dhaka Times Desk At first Shahidul Islam spoke against Shamim Osman and sometimes in favor of Shamim Osman, but now Shahidul Islam has demanded the arrest of Shamim Osman.

Shahidul Islam aka Shaheed Chairman, father-in-law of panel mayor Nazrul Islam, who was killed in the murder case, demanded the arrest of 4 people including MP Shamim Osman of Narayanganj-4 Constituency in the much-discussed seven murder case of Narayanganj. He made this demand in a press conference at his residence at Abdul Alipul in Siddhirganj on Wednesday afternoon. Khabar Bangladesh News24

Shahidul Islam organized this press conference in the wake of the letter received in the name of the absconding Noor Hossain, the main accused in the seven murder case. He said, among those whom Noor Hossain mentioned as 'big brother' in the letter are Narayanganj-4 Constituency MP Shamim Osman and Thana Awami League President Mujibur Rahman.

He demanded the arrest of Shaheed Chairman Mujibur Rahman, expelled general secretary of Thana Awami League Yachin and president of Thana Jubo League Matiur Rahman Moti.

Shahidul Islam also said in the press conference, 'The figure of Tk 50 lakh mentioned in Noor Hossain's letter will be more. He thinks that apart from money, RAB people have also been given various gifts. Shahidul Islam claimed that in the letter, Noor Hossain used a few words as 'big brother' which was indicated to Mujibur Rahman, president of Thana Awami League.

It is to be noted that RAB officials have been arrested and remanded several times in the sensational Narayanganj Seven Murder incident. Although the police arrested many people involved in this incident, the main accused, who is absconding, Noor Hossain, is yet to be arrested by the police. He is believed to be fleeing to India. Due to which Interpol red alert has been issued at the request of Home Ministry.
