Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is coming to Bangladesh for the first time after the formation of the new government of India by Narendra Modi on June 25. A senior official of the Indian government told the media that Bangladesh will be asked to open the Tamarind Corridor during this visit. The news media has given this news citing Economic Times. It is said that Bangladesh-India border agreement and Teesta water distribution will be discussed during the visit.
