Pregnant mothers will now get free ambulance service

The Dhaka Times Desk Sambit is back after a long time, it has been announced that pregnant mothers will get free ambulance service from now on. Pregnant women with poor health will get medical care from now on.

It is known that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has decided to provide free ambulance services to poor pregnant mothers across the country. Instructions have already been sent to all hospitals in the country to provide free ambulance services. Health Minister Mohammad Nasim told reporters this through a press conference at the secretariat on Wednesday.

Health Minister said 'We have decided to provide free ambulance service to pregnant mothers during delivery. When pregnant women experience labor pains, anyone in their family can get this free ambulance service by contacting the nearby hospitals over the phone.' The health minister also said that strict action will be taken against anyone who willfully neglects to provide this service.

It is to be noted that many women in villages give birth at home with the help of unskilled midwives, unable to afford the ambulance fare. Due to which many mothers and children die. It is mainly because of these reasons that the Ministry of Health has taken this decision.
