Among the 32 teams participating in the 20th edition of the World Cup in Brazil, a total of 24 teams have been eliminated in the first and knockout stages. Only 8 teams survive with proof of eligibility. All these 8 teams will fight in the quarter finals. The quarter-finals of the Brazil World Cup, i.e. the battle for the last eight, starts today on Friday.

The two European superpowers Germany and France are fighting in the first quarter-final at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro. In the second game, hosts Brazil will face Colombia at 2 pm Bangladesh time at 2 pm Bangladesh time.
