The Dhaka Times Desk After oxygen, water is needed to save life. Water regulates body structure and internal functions such as digestion, absorption and digestion of food. We can live for weeks without food, but not even days without water. So we conserve clean water by being conscious. But those who use plastic bottles to store water or carry it outside the house, think about whether the bottle is as sterile as your water.
Most of the plastic bottles available in the market are disposable bottles. A study was published in 2007 in the Journal of Practical Gastroenterology. The study shows that the plastic lining of these disposable bottles is destroyed due to daily use. Micro cracks form on it and bacteria are born. If the bottles are not cleaned well every day, bacteria remain and they can cause serious damage to our body. Also, disposable bottles can be used only once. Many bottles have this information on them. Even reusable bottles can harbor bacteria.
A study by University of Calgary researchers was published in the Canadian Journal of Public Health in 2002. In this study they took 76 bottles that had not been properly washed and found bacteria in most of them. The amount of that bacteria is also a serious threat to our health. However, these germs are believed to have come from the hands of the students. Whatever the source of the germs, it is certain that these germs multiply on the bottle.
Kathy Ryan, a professor of geology at the University of Calgary, said in a study that bacteria thrive at temperatures similar to those in water bottles. As a result, bacteria can easily grow in water bottles. And the attack of this bacteria can cause some more serious bacterial diseases including diarrhea, vomiting, stomach ache.
Experts therefore advise not to re-use the bottle and if you have to, wash it thoroughly. So everyone should use glass or stainless steel bottles. If using a plastic bottle, wash it daily in 120 degree Celsius water before use.
