Shahabuddin Ahmed was born in Dhaka on September 11, 1950. The fame of this French-Bengali artist living in Paris-immigration of the modern genre is all over the world. He was also awarded the Olympiad of Arts in Barcelona in 1992 as one of the fifty Master Painters of Contemporary Arts. The Government of Bangladesh awarded this talented artist with the Freedom Medal in 2000.
Sahabuddin Ahmed participated in the liberation war in 1971. He led as a platoon commander. It is known that former mayor of Dhaka Sadek Hossain Khoka, Pop Emperor and Guru Azam Khan were with him as fellow fighters during the liberation war.
