Bangladeshi films invited for Oscar nominations

The Dhaka Times Desk Bangladeshi films invited for Oscar nominations. This invitation was given for the nomination of Bangladeshi films in the foreign language competition section of Oscar.

It is known that Bangladeshi films have been invited to nominate Bangladeshi films in the foreign language competition category of the 87th Oscars. A committee of 9 members has been formed under the initiative of Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies for the nomination of films. Film personality Habibur Rahman Khan has been made the chairman of this committee. The 86th Oscars Bangladesh Committee has named Robin Shams as the Media Coordinator. The 87th Oscars Bangladesh Committee will be able to submit Bangladeshi films made in Bengali language for nomination in the foreign language competition category of the Oscars.

Any full-length film with English subtitles released after 1 October 2013 in Bangladesh theaters for 7 consecutive days can participate in this selection process. In a press release, film producers interested in participating in this selection process are requested to collect the film submission form and detailed rules from Hasan Holding, 9th Floor, 52/1 Newskaton, Dhaka 1217. It has been informed that it can be submitted by 12 noon on September 24.

Meanwhile, the news of submission of the film for Oscar nomination has caused a boom in the production of papers and accessories. As several quality films have been produced in Bangladesh in the last year and a half, it is expected that Bangladeshi films will get nominated for Oscars.
