Bangladesh's Test win over Zimbabwe: Target continues winning streak - Mushfiqur

The Dhaka Times Desk Bangladesh has won the Test with Zimbabwe, but now the main target is to continue the winning streak. Captain Mushfiqur Rahim said this.

Bangladesh plays well when it plays well. Again, when the bad starts playing, the bad plays. Keeping the winning streak is important now. While talking to reporters, captain Mushfiqur said, "We snatched victory from Zimbabwe." But now our main target is to continue that winning streak.

The Bangladesh team had to lose despite coming close to winning several matches this year. Mushfiq also had that failure. However, Mushfiqur Rahim played an important role as a batsman and captain in the team's victory in the Mirpur 1st Test which ended in three days on Monday. Even in the face of extreme batting disaster, Mushfiqur brought victory to the team with Taijul Islam. The Bangladesh cricket team has been able to advance by 1-0 in the three-match Test series. This captain of Bangladesh appeared in the press conference after the match.

While answering various questions from journalists, he said, 'Winning a Test match, it's a big deal. Such opportunities don't come around often, especially for a team like ours. This year we lost many matches even though we were very close to winning. From there we were able to hold that nerve today and overcome those issues. I think that's a big plus point for us. I think there were some areas where our batsmen could have improved and it could have been easier. Winning is important. We are very confident about this. But our main target will be to continue the winning streak.'

In response to a question about what might happen in the big target if we fail in such a small target of 101, Mushfiq said, 'It is not a matter of much concern. We knew they would struggle to counter our spin attack. 20 wickets must be taken to win a Test match. In that case a run is also needed on the score board which is the responsibility of the batsmen. From that point of view, we had some runouts in the first innings, which we shouldn't have at all, at least at this level. Hopefully, the batsmen will be a little more focused and confident in the upcoming matches. They have to play with responsibility for the team. Mushfiq also said, 'They try to make a pair. Pairs are very important in the top order. This is what we always plan for. Hopefully, it will happen in the next match, inshallah.'
