The Dhaka Times Desk The Supreme Court has ordered the death of Kamaruzzaman in the final verdict. And because this verdict is upheld, Jamaat leader Mohammad Kamaruzzaman will be hanged.
A 4-member bench headed by senior judge SK Sinha of the Appellate Division announced this verdict on Monday. The remaining 4 members of the bench are - Justice Md. Abdul Wahhab Mia, Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui and Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury.
The final verdict of the Assistant Secretary General of the Appellate Division of the Jamaat-e-Islami was announced on a day when the Jamaat-e-Islami is holding a strike to protest against the death sentence of its Amir Matiur Rahman Nizami for the same crime.
It is to be noted that earlier the International Criminal Tribunal had ordered Kamaruzzaman to be hanged for murder on the 3rd and 4th charges.
