Two days after he went missing, the police recovered the body of Tanveer Mohammad Tukki (17), son of Rafiur Rabbi, the founder and cultural movement leader of Ganajagran Manch in Narayanganj, on March 8. It is believed that 'Tanveer was killed by strangulation'.
Tanveer's body was found in a canal adjacent to Shitalakshya river in Charargop area of the city on Friday, March 8 around 11:15 pm. Rafiur Rabbi, vice president of Narayanganj Citizens' Committee, identified the son's body after receiving the news.
Tanveer took the 'A' level exams this year from ABC International, an English medium school in the city's Chashadha. The results of the examination were published on Thursday, March 7. This teenager passed with merit. His father Rafiur Rabbi told reporters that Tanveer left his house on Old Court Road, Shaista Khan Road in the city around 4:30 pm last Wednesday. Then did not return. After many searches, the rabbi informed RAB and the police in writing that he could not be found.
It is known that on Friday, March 8, around 11:15 p.m., the locals informed the police after seeing the body floating in the canal beside the river. After the rescue, Rafiur Rabbi himself went and identified the son's body. Later, the body was sent to Narayanganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Tanveer had bruises on his right eye and black marks on his face. In this incident, Tanveer's father Rafiur Rabbi filed a case with Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station as the plaintiff.
In the statement of the case, he said that because he participated in various social and cultural activities against the war criminals and started a movement in Narayanganj like the rest of the country, Tanveer was killed in a planned manner out of outrage.
Superintendent of Police Syed Nurul Islam told reporters, "It is initially assumed that Tanveer was killed by strangulation after seeing the marks of injury on the body's neck. The matter is being seriously investigated.”
In the night, District Superintendent of Police Sadar Model Police Station Inspector Abdur Razzak has formed a 6-member investigation committee and District Intelligence Police Inspector Saidur Rahman has formed another investigation committee of 7 members.
Shadow of mourning in Narayanganj
After hearing the news of Tanveer's body, Narayanganj fell into mourning. The leaders of political and cultural circles of Narayanganj also rushed to the mortuary of Narayanganj Sadar Hospital after hearing about the recovery of Tanveer's body. Abdur Rahman, general secretary of Narayanganj Citizens Committee, said that after the disappearance of Tanveer, police and law enforcement agencies were contacted several times, but they failed to rescue him. The government must unravel this murder mystery.
Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Selina Hyatt Ivy told reporters, "This death is not normal. The people of Narayanganj do not want this death. Rabbi Ganajagran is the founder of Mancha. He was vocal against all injustice." The mayor demanded proper investigation and arrest of the killers.
The workers of Samilat Sanskar Jota marched with black flags in Chashara area of the city in the afternoon to demand the arrest and trial of Tanveer's killers. Pradeep Ghosh Babu, the president of the alliance said, Rafiur Rabbi, the entrepreneur and cultural personality of Ganajagran Manch, was also involved in various civil movements of Narayanganj. The rabbi was vocal against injustice at various times, including the movement to reduce bus fares in Narayanganj. He demanded a proper investigation and trial of his son's murder.
It is to be noted that after the protest started on February 5 in Dhaka's Shahbagh demanding the hanging of war criminals, Narayanganj participated in this protest, Rafiur Rabbi is one of them. He gave a strong speech demanding hanging of war criminals in various gatherings at Narayanganj Shaheed Minar.

The cultural alliance and civic committee have called a morning-evening strike in Narayanganj on March 9 to demand the arrest and trial of Tanveer's killers. According to the latest news, this strike is being celebrated spontaneously in Narayanganj.
3 have been killed so far in the mass awakening movement
On February 15, Blogger Ahmed Rajeev Haider, an active activist of Shahbagh's Jagran Manch, was killed in front of his house in Pallabi of the capital. Two days ago, another mass awakening worker named Saniur Rahman was hacked and injured by miscreants. He is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical. Sanyur, who is undergoing treatment, told reporters that those who attacked him had beards and Punjabi clothes.
Police have arrested five people in connection with Rajiv's murder, who have confessed to the murder. The confession of the five North South University students was that they killed Rajeev for his alleged anti-Islamic writings on the blog and were instigated by a former leader of the Islami Chhatra Shibir.
Then, on March 2nd, Jagatjyoti Talukder, an active worker of Sylhet Ganajagran Manch and former joint convenor of Mahanagar Chhatra League, was killed in an attack by Jamaat-Shibir in Sylhet's Akhalia. Then Tanveer was first kidnapped and then killed and thrown into the river.
Jamaat-Shibir activists are trying to wipe out the mass demand by attacking one after another. The victims demanded an urgent look into the matter and exemplary punishment to the culprits.
