1400 will be overpassed at the railway crossing to avoid accidents

The Dhaka Times Desk A good news after many days is that the overpass will be at 1400' rail crossing to avoid accidents. Because sometimes accidents happen at railway crossings. Many people were injured.

To avoid repeated accidents, the Ministry of Railways has decided to construct overpasses at 1400 railway crossings in the country. After the meeting of the parliamentary standing committee related to the Ministry of Railways on Thursday, the president of that committee ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury said that there are about 2500 railway crossings in the country. Out of this, overpasses will be constructed at 1400 railway crossings.

He also said, 'Among these, about 1400 crossings are under the railway department and the rest are under the road or local government department. Ministry of Railways will construct overpasses at their crossings to avoid accidents. At these crossings, road department vehicles will run over the overpass. And the train will run below.'

It should be noted that in recent times, many people have been injured in the collision of cars and trains at railway crossings in different parts of the country including the capital. On August 1, 11 people lost their lives in a terrible collision between a train and a bus carrying a bride at a railway crossing in Kaliganj, Jhenaidah. More than fifty people were injured in that incident.
