The Dhaka Times Desk The court ordered the re-exhumation of the body of actress Nair Sultana Lopa, who played the role of 'Tuni' in the drama 'Eisab Dinratri'.
The CMM court of Dhaka has ordered the exhumation of the dead body of Nair Sultana Lopa, the actress who played the role of 'Tuni' in the once popular TV series 'Aisab Dinratri' by Nandit fiction writer and dramatist Humayun Ahmed.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Bikash Kumar Saha gave this order on Wednesday. Counsel for the prosecution made an application for a re-mortem of the body. After the hearing, the judge granted the application and gave the order.
The final post-mortem report was given on November 16, 31 days after his dead body was recovered from Gulshan's house. The final report of the autopsy said, "Lopa committed suicide by hanging herself".
The preliminary autopsy report on November 9 also mentioned 'pending viscera'. Due to the allegation of murder by Loper's family and the mystery surrounding the death in the police report, the post-mortem is also shrouded in mystery. On the other hand, seeing the viscera report, the medical board of the Forensic Medicine Department of Dhaka Medical College gave the report as 'suicide'.
It should be noted that the police recovered the hanging body of Nair Sultana Lopa from her flat on October 16. Although the cloth was wrapped around the neck with a fan, the dead body's feet were touching the bed. Because of which the relatives claim that the drug addict husband Ali Amin is responsible for this incident. Relatives have been claiming that Lopa did not commit suicide, she was murdered.
