Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas held an emergency meeting with Fatah Movement and PLO leaders after receiving the news of the minister's death on Wednesday night. During the meeting, he showed a photo showing Abu In being strangled by an Israeli official.
This picture was spread by the Palestinians on various social media within a short period of time. Tagged under the image were the words 'ICantBreathÕ' which literally means 'I can't breathe'. The image is accompanied by a link to the killing of an unarmed black man by a white police officer in New York.
Meanwhile, the news media Al Jazeera reported that on Wednesday, 55-year-old Abu In was participating in a demonstration against the establishment of Jewish settlements with some Palestinian leaders and foreign human rights activists. Around 30 Israeli soldiers and police fired tear gas at the protesters. A border policeman grabbed the Palestinian minister by the throat with one hand. Although Abu In was protesting completely peacefully.
