The Dhaka Times Desk The European Union Court ruled that Hamas, Israel's main opponent, which Israel has always termed as a terrorist organization, is not a terrorist organization.
According to the media, the European Union Court has ordered to remove the name of the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas from the terrorist organization. The court gave this order yesterday on Wednesday.
Citing a statement from the European Court, media reports said, 'The list prepared about Hamas in 2001 did not have accurate information. The information given is taken from media and internet.
"Today's decision to delist Hamas is due to its strategic position," the statement added. This does not mean that we are explaining whether Hamas is a terrorist organization.'
The court's ruling also said, 'The claims and evidence on which Hamas was listed were not tested and substantiated. The information on which the authorities have taken this decision is taken from the media and the internet.
It should be noted that after the attack on the Twin Towers of America, this organization prepared the blacklist of terrorism in December 2001. The organization also blacklisted the Palestinian Islamist political party Hamas in 2003.
