The incident started from Friday afternoon and continued throughout the night. 3-and-a-half-year-old child Jihad fell into an abandoned water pipe in Wasa. We all know the story of his rescue. The unconscious child Jihad was rescued that day but could not be rescued alive. And that incident has saddened the entire nation. After many stories and loss of life, the mouth of the abandoned pipe in Shahjahanpur railway colony of the capital has been closed.
Soon after Jihad was rescued, the mouth of the 14-inch diameter pipe was permanently sealed. Senior Sub-Assistant Engineer of Railways Jahangir Alam was dismissed on the same day (Friday) when Jihad fell into the abandoned deep well pipe. He was the officer in charge of that project.
After Jihad was found dead, the enraged locals also vandalized various shops set up on the railway land in the area and also the temporary construction of Wasa. They erupted into protests. Locals became enraged at the untimely death due to failure to rescue in time. That's why the authorities finally closed the mouth of that well.
