Court allows DNA test in Happy's rape case

The Dhaka Times Desk Following the plea of model and film actress Nazneen Akhtar, the court allowed the DNA test in Happy's rape case.

Model and film actress Nazneen Akhter Happy has applied for DNA testing of evidence seized in the rape case. The court granted his plea yesterday. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman approved the application and gave this order on Wednesday.

On December 13, 2014, model and film actress Nazneen Akhter Happy filed a case under Section 9/1 of Women and Child Abuse in Mirpur Police Station of the capital, alleging rape against national cricket team bowler Rubel Hossain.

It is said that the accused Rubel developed a love affair with Happy on the lure of marriage. Petitioner Happy also claimed that he had physical relations with her.

After filing the case, Naika Happy was taken to the Police Victim Support Center at around 7:30 pm on the same day. The next day, his physical examination was also done at the Forensic Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The forensic department has already submitted the report.
