He died while undergoing treatment at the capital's LabAid Hospital early Sunday morning. He was 73 years old at the time of his death. His body was taken to his residence at No. 9 Jasimuddin Road in Kamalapur of the capital yesterday around 10 am. The body was kept there till noon. His body was later taken to Bardem's mortuary. The body will be taken to his long-time workplace FDC at 10 am on Monday. The funeral will be held there. After the janaza at Bad Zohar Baitul Mokarram Mosque, the body will be taken from there to the village home of Bikrampur. After last rites there, he will be buried in the family cemetery.
It should be noted that filmmaker Chazhi Nazrul Islam was suffering from lung cancer for a long time. On January 7, he was admitted to the intensive care unit after his condition worsened. Farmer Nazrul Islam made his film debut in 1961 as an assistant director in Fateh Lohani's 'Achiya'.
