The Dhaka Times Desk No one can tell when and how death will appear. Death does not hinder anything, big or small or rich or poor. After seven long years, Koko is returning home today, but not alive, but as a corpse. An irony of fate.
No one can tell when and how death will happen. Although the Creator has left many things in the hands of man, birth and death have never been given under the control of man. No one can tell when the monster called death will appear at whose door. Many sick patients are surviving and a healthy person is suddenly falling into the lap of death. An unconscious destiny is written in everyone's life. But no one knows when and how it will happen.
The same happened with former President Ziaur Rahman and BNP Chairperson former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia's younger son Arafat Rahman Koko. No one has the power to bypass the Aghom rules. July 19, 2008. The day was Saturday, 1:29 PM. Ailing Arafat Rahman Koko went to Thailand from the then Zia International Airport, leaving his loved ones crying. Coco was arrested during the Emergency. After being released in 2008 by executive order of the then military-controlled caretaker government, he went to Thailand for treatment. Arafat Rahman Koko left Zia International Airport on a Thai Airways flight. From there he went to Malaysia. He stayed there till his death.

A lot of time has passed since then, seven years have passed one by one. Due to various legal complications and insecurity, Coco did not return to her mother after recovery. I had to leave my beloved homeland and my beloved people and stay in exile in a foreign land. Finally today, Koko's dream of returning to that dear land, to the bosom of the most beloved compassionate mother, is coming true. But that return is a return of a different kind. Not alive, he is returning to the soil of his beloved homeland as a corpse, in a frozen and silent body.
Arafat Rahman Koko, younger son of former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, breathed his last in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday afternoon. Today his body is being brought from Malaysia to Bangladesh. Funeral and burial will take place. A Coco's life story will end.
