This mosque, which has survived for about 430 years, is located 20 km south of Bogra city in Khondkar Tola Mahalla of Sherpur Upazila Sadar. The mosque survives due to its massive four corner minarets and wide walls. The carved designs on the bricks have eroded, the lime-surki coating has also fallen off. The thin red brick walls are 1.81 meters wide with lime mortar. The 3 domes of the Kherua mosque are supported on the roof.

Kherua Mosque is 17.27 meters long, 7.42 meters wide from north to south. 3 arched doorways in east wall. The middle one is a bit bigger in size. There is an arched doorway each on the north-south side. None of the doors have frames. That's why there was no threshold of the door. Below the large front door is a black stone patio. 3 arches in the interior of the west wall along the east door. The upper parts of the arches are beautifully crafted. Ground plan in the lower part of the mosque according to Mughal architecture. And the upper part is in pre-Mughal Sultanate style. A little in front of the wall at the four corners are four huge minarets. On the roof are 3 semi-circular domes of 3.71 m diameter.

The whole architecture has become highly aesthetic with minarets, domes, designs and varied brickwork. In front of the mosque there is a rectangular field covered with green grass. There are also rows of palm, coconut, mango and kadam trees along the edge of the mosque. There are also seasonal flowering plants on one side. The entire square is surrounded by iron railings on brick walls. The three-domed ancient architecture looks very picturesque in the lush green surroundings. People come from far and wide to see this historic mosque.
