Shakib Al-Hasan

Born: 24 March 1987 He made his One Day International debut against Zimbabwe in August 2006. He is a left-handed middle-order batsman and a left-arm orthodox spinner. Shakib is an alumnus of Bangladesh Sports Training Institute (BKSP). His quality of play and consistency have taken him to new heights. He has become one of the most reliable players in the team. Shakib also holds the unique distinction of being the best all-rounder in the world. In January 2015, Shakib achieved the distinction of becoming the number one all-rounder in all editions of Test, ODI and T20 cricket. Shakib Al Hasan became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score 4000 runs in ODIs.

In fact, Shakib started playing football at a young age. His father used to play for the Khulna division, for the Bangladesh national team. Despite growing up in such a football crazy family, Shakib Al Hasan's cricketing skills were exceptional. Seeing his skill, he was hired to play in villages. In one such match, Shakib impressed an umpire who later allowed Shakib to practice at Islampur Para Club (a team in the Magura Cricket League). Shakib continued his characteristic aggressive batting and fast bowling, while also experimenting with spin bowling for the first time, with success at one point. That's why Shakib got a chance to play in the Islampur team and took the wicket with the first ball. This was his first ball with a real cricket ball. Earlier he played with taped-tennis balls.

After that, Shakib got an opportunity to play in the Under-19 team at the age of fifteen. In the final of the Under-19 tri-nation tournament in 2005 (the other two nations were England and Sri Lanka), he scored a century off just 86 balls. In that game, he took three wickets to help the team win. Between 2005 and 2006, Shakib also played 18 one-day internationals for the under-19 team. Collected a total of 563 runs at an average of 35.18 and took a total of 22 wickets at an average of 20.18.

On 4 January 2015, BCB authorities named him as one of the members of the 15-member final list of the Bangladesh team for the 2015 Cricket World Cup. Shakib Al Hasan produced an impressive display of athleticism against Afghanistan in the first match of the group stage at Manuka Oval on February 18. Formed a 100-run partnership with Mushfiqur which played a special role in accelerating Bangladesh's victory. He became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score 4,000 runs in One Day Internationals. Shakib Al Hasan made a special contribution to win the Bangladesh team by 105 runs by getting 2 wickets along with the half-century.

Mashrafe bin Mortuza

Born: 5 October 1983 One of the bowling pillars of Bangladesh cricket team and captaining the team in one-day internationals. Mortuza's nickname is Kaushik. He is a right handed batsman. Mortuza's bowling style is right-arm pace bowler. Apart from the Bangladesh national team, he has also played in the One Day International team of the Asian XI.

Mashrafe Bin Mortuza is one of the most successful pace bowlers of Bangladesh. While in the Under-19 team, he caught the eye of former West Indies fast bowler Andy Roberts, who was then the team's interim bowling coach, with his aggressive, pace bowling. On the advice of Roberts, Mashrafe was included in the Bangladesh national team.

He got a chance to represent the national team by playing only one match for Bangladesh A-team. He made his Test debut on 8 November 2001 against Zimbabwe at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

Mashrafe bowled well in the Test series against England in 2006. Mashrafe's average was the best among Bangladeshi bowlers. Mashrafe was instrumental in the dramatic win over Australia in Cardiff. He conceded just 33 runs in 10 overs, dismissing Markotte batsman Adam Gilchrist for a wicket.

Mashrafe Bin Mortuza is a marquee batsman. He hit four consecutive sixes in the second one-day international against India in Dhaka. He collected 26 runs from that over which was the record for highest runs in one over by any Bangladeshi batsman. Mashrafe is known as 'Narail Express' to his fans as he is the fastest bowler in Bangladesh.

Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahim

Born: 1st September 1988 He served as the captain of the Bangladesh national team. From September 2011, he was selected as the captain of the national team. He is currently a wicket-keeper and middle-order batsman in the Bangladesh Test team. The ever-smiling player of diminutive build has become known for his frequent chatter behind stamps. He is the first double century in the history of Test cricket in Bangladesh, i.e. the highest run scorer. Mushfiq was once a student of Bangladesh Sports Education Institute.

In 2005, Mushfiqur got his chance in the national team for the first time during the tour of England. This was Bangladesh's first visit to England. Mushfiq got acquainted with the environment by playing preparatory matches. His innings of 63 runs against Sussex and his unbeaten 115 against Nottinghamshire are proof of that.

He led the Bangladesh team in the Under-19 World Cup held in 2006. The team included future international stars Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal among others. Under the leadership of Mushfiq, the team also managed to reach the quarter finals. Mushfiqur again got a chance in the national team during the tour of Zimbabwe this year.

Tamim Iqbal Khan

Born: 20 March 1989 Tamim participated in the U-19 Cricket World Cup held in Sri Lanka. Tamim Iqbal played first-class cricket for the Chittagong divisional team in the Premier League. He is the brother of Test cricketer Nafees Iqbal and nephew of popular Bangladeshi cricket star Akram Khan. As of March 2015, he is the second Bangladeshi cricketer to score 4,000 runs in ODIs. In March 2012, Tamim joined the IPL cricket team Pune Warriors. Tamim scored his first Test century during the West Indies tour of Bangladesh in July-August of the 2009 season.

Tamim ended his innings with 128 runs and won the man of the match award for his outstanding sportsmanship (he also scored 33 in the first innings). Talking about his innings, Tamim said, “The wicket was quite flat. If you can concentrate on the game and play straight with the bat, surely you can score big. I am twenty now and have played only 11 Tests. Hopefully, I can gift the team many more such innings. On March 13, 2010, Tamim reached the milestone of 1,000 runs by playing an impeccable innings of 86 runs in the first Test of the series against England. Only Sachin Tendulkar and Mohammad Ashraful managed to reach this milestone at an even younger age. In the second innings of this Test and the first innings of the next Test, Tamim scored two consecutive centuries (103 and 108). In 2012 Asia Cup, Tamim Iqbal scored half-centuries in 4 matches.
