Poland asked America to apologize!

The Dhaka Times Desk Poland has asked the US to apologize after the head of the US intelligence agency FBI hinted that Poles may be linked to Nazi-era crimes.

According to media sources, an article written by FBI Director James Comey was published in the Washington Post last week. This controversy started from a comment in that article.

The FBI director said in reference to the Holocaust or the extermination of Jews during World War II, 'The murderers and their accomplices in Germany, Poland, Hungary or elsewhere believed in their hearts that they were doing nothing wrong!'

The director also wrote, 'They convinced themselves that this was the right thing to do, and that this was what they had to do.'

After the FBI director's statement was published, there was a storm of protest in Poland. Poland's President Komorowski said, 'Such talk shows ignorance of correct information. Historians also agree that very few Poles collaborated with the Nazis.'

Meanwhile, the US ambassador assigned to Warsaw, the capital of Poland, also admitted the matter, "It is a "disgraceful mistake" to blame the people of Poland for the crimes of the Nazis!"
