On March 9, mother Anwara Begum, Nargis and Kakali Benapole crossed the border into India with passports and visas for Nargis' treatment and to visit Ajmer Sharif. They reached Howrah via Bangaon, Sealda by train. The next day he left for Delhi by train. Around 3:30 pm on March 10, some youths mistakenly misled the mother and daughter that the train had arrived at Delhi station. Some mischievous young men in the compartment hold Nargis's face. The train has already left. After waiting for 3 days at Anwara and Kakli Kanpur stations, there was no trace of the girl. Then they returned to the country with the help of the locals. Then on March 19, Khulna's Sonadanga police informed them that Nargis' body was found near a railway station in India. His body was brought back to Bangladesh on April 20.

Rahela Begum told the media, 'The Indian police returned the body of Nargis after 41 days on Monday through Benapole border. Those who bathed the body told me that both eyes of Nargis were removed. Her left breast was cut off and her kidney was taken out by a cut under her back. Besides, an arm and a leg were broken. There were sharp weapon injuries in multiple places on his body.'
He also said that the Indian police did not give any report of their post-mortem. They also said that they have appealed to the Khulna Metropolitan Police for fair trial and compensation for this barbaric murder and gang rape.
Regretfully, Rahela Begum said, '3 of them went to India legally with passport-visa. However, the Indian government has completely failed to provide them security. Nargis had to die due to insecurity. She was killed after being gang-raped and brutally tortured. After going to India for treatment and visiting Ajmer Sharif, he had to return as a dead body.
Anwara Begum, the blind mother of deceased Nargis said, 'How many people go abroad. It never happens to anyone. What am I going to do with this baby girl now?'
