The Dhaka Times Desk A mobile court has sentenced three workers of Mahila Dal to three months imprisonment for vandalizing a car during the hartal of the 18-party alliance.
Those who were sentenced to jail are - Mahanagar Mahila Dal's organizing secretary Milli Zakaria, co-organizing secretary Nilufar Yasmin Nilu and Mahila Dal's central committee member Polly. Magistrate Shamima Banu Shanti of the Mobile Court came to Khilgaon police station at noon on Tuesday (April 23) and sentenced them to prison.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khilgaon Police Station Sirajul Islam told the media, 'BNP women's party workers took out a procession in Khilgaon around 8:30 am. Activists vandalized several vehicles on Khilgaon road from the procession. At one point, when they tried to set the car on fire, the Khilgaon police arrested three workers from the spot. He also said, 'After the arrest, when they were brought to the police station, the mobile court sentenced each of them to three months' imprisonment. They were then taken to prison.'
