News of various events is heard in the world. But every now and then something happens that is quite exceptional. One such exceptional case is in India. India is one of the most populous countries in the world. Killings, robberies, riots are going on here all the time. When no one keeps the news of murdering people, there is a precedent-setting incident that happened at a place called Patuli in Vaishnavaghata district of South Kolkata.

There are marches, public meetings going on to protest the killing of cats and even the local administration has been threatened with a hunger strike if the killing is not prosecuted. That cat's name is One. He was paired with another cat named Ladykenny. The two cats used to sleep, eat and even roam together. As usual on July 12, Lady Kenny went out for a walk from the house. But Ladykeni returned but Wan did not. Five days later, Wan's frozen body was recovered from an under-construction flat next door.

Patuli's cat-lovers are appalled as to how people could be so unkind to this ten-month-old cat. A voluntary organization of Patuli area runs ONE. The name of that organization is Divashaven. The organization has claimed the death of Wan as murder and non-death. Those who killed Cat One are wanted to be identified as murderers and brought to justice. An FIR has been lodged at the Patuli police station in Emorm on the charge of murder.

Soon after this FIR, one's body was sent for postmortem at Belgachia Animal Hospital. However, the police have not been able to arrest anyone so far.

A mourning and protest meeting was held for Wan on the day his body was found. The protestors said in the meeting, 'So that no one else has to suffer such a painful death, that's why we have this protest program.' They can sit on hunger strike if necessary to get justice and they have promised to go to the end for justice.
