Date line May 5. Custody siege begins

The Dhaka Times Desk Hefazet Islami's Dhaka siege has started with many concerns and worries. Now this program is being celebrated peacefully till 9:30 am. No disturbance was reported anywhere. A Hefazat worker stationed at the Amin Bazar point said, 'This program will continue for 3 days or until the leaders give instructions.'

The capital has been cordoned off. Since night, Hefazat-e-Islami leaders and activists from different regions started gathering at different points to besiege the capital. The blockade of the custody continues despite the hostile weather. Originally called for 5 points, but they have planned to hold 11 points. The points are - Kanchpur, Suburb of Capital Dhaka, Signboard, Jatrabari, Demra, Sadarghat, Postgola Bridge, Babubazar Bridge, Gabtali, Aminbazar, Tongi, Gazipur Crossroads. At the beginning of the blockade, activists and supporters from the districts of Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Comilla, Gazipur, Narsingdi, Mymensingh, Tangail, which are relatively short distance from Dhaka, will participate in the blockade program. They will remain there till central orders are received. It is said that detailed instructions have already been given to the district level officials regarding the program. On the other hand, in various campaigns, the workers are asked to carry Jainamaz, Tasbih, Kalima-studded flag, dry food, water etc. while participating in the program.

It was said at the Hefajat press conference yesterday that there is no restriction on their driving inside the capital.

It should be noted that Hefazat Islam has called today's blockade program to realize the 13-point demand.
