Indonesia has a law to castrate child sexual abusers

The Dhaka Times Desk Indonesia has announced that child sex abusers will be castrated due to the recent increase in child rape cases.

Indonesia has announced that child abusers will be chemically castrated. After Poland, Russia, Estonia and some states of America took measures to punish sex offenders in the past, Indonesia is going to introduce it. South Korea was the first among Asian countries to enact this law in 2011. It was decided to adopt this method to stop sexual abuse of children in the country.

According to media reports, Indonesia's Attorney General Mohammad Praseti also said that such a decision was made in the context of sensational cases of sexual abuse of children in the country. He further said that if such a punishment is given, anyone will think twice before committing such a crime, not once, but a thousand times. He told the media that the punishment was discussed in the Cabinet meeting chaired by President Joko Widodo.

He mentioned that the president will issue the decree in this regard. The attorney general said it would become law without a vote of parliament. According to this law, the person who sexually abuses the child will be rendered impotent by injecting female hormones into the body.

It should be noted that in recent times, sexual abuse of children has increased dramatically, so this kind of punishment is introduced against it.
